Services for WMU Students with Autism

The Autism Services Center

The Autism Services Center (ASC) at Western Michigan University providing supports for students with autism spectrum disorder in addition to those provided by Disability Services for Students. These additional services include helping students with time management and organization, assisting them in locating on-campus tutoring for academic help, connecting them with registered students organizations for extracurricular activities and arranging social events. These services help with the transition from high school to college.

The Autism Services Center’s overall goal is to help students with ASD succeed at college, both academically and socially. Unlike many other colleges’ services for students with ASD, the Autism Services Center provides supports at no additional cost to the student.
